Capt. Steve Peterson -
Owner, operator - I
grew up in a marina environment. From 1958 to 1976, my father
owned SpeedLiner Marina Corporation in Saint Joseph, Missouri,
which produced a variety of pleasure, fishing and racing craft
boats. Working for my father those many years, I acquired job
skills such as molds, gel-coating, laying fiberglass, sanding
and rigging inboards and outboards, test-driving and performing,
L.O.A. flotation rates, repairing, rescue and reclaims. I also
am experienced in boat sales selling more than 6,000 boats. In
1976 my family sold Speed Liner and opened two marinas on the
river- which they operated until 1982. I managed both locations
and operations such as storage, lift operations, boat sales, operating
the ships store, repair and maintenance of boats. I am also a
certified dive instructor and have used this expertise for marine
salvage.
Randy
Longenbach - Owner, operator
-
Randy Longenbach:
Randy Longenbach has a BA in business and economics. After
college, he worked in the corporate world for two years- 1972 and
1973- and found out that this type of business environment did not
interest him. A golf friend of Randy's, who was the owner of a
service company, showed Randy his business, and that's all it
took. Randy left the corporate world and, on a shoestring budget,
started his own service business (Carpet and Upholstery cleaning)
in Hollywood, Florida. He began by working out of his apartment
with no customer leads and rented cleaning machines. He sold
accounts by day and cleaned at night. After one month, he hired
his first employee- which gave Randy more time to generate new
accounts. Over the next 12 years, Randy's business grew to10
employees, 7 trucks and 1.2 million in annual sales per year.
Randy got married and wanted to start a family but decided the
South Florida area of Miami and Fort Lauderdale was changing.
Randy sold his business and moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 1986. In
Atlanta, he founded Classic Commercial Services-a commercial
service company. With experience under his belt and a proven
marketing plan, the business quickly grew to include additional
staff and services, large contract and commercial accounts, and an
expanding geographical service area. That was 15 years ago.
His corporate offices are in Alpharetta,
Georgia, but he services accounts from Miami to Chicago. He took
the company from a one-man operation to a 20-employee corporation
with 10 vehicles in his own building on his own land. Classic's
customers include all The Hyatt Regency's in the southeast, Marriott
Hotels, Hilton Hotels, hospitals, country clubs, office buildings,
restaurant chains movie theaters and more.
The company's services include: Ultrasonic Blind Cleaning
Division, Carpet, Upholstery and Drapery Cleaning Division, Water
and Fire emergency service Division, and Fabric Protection
division. Good business planning, experience, drive and just
loving what you do in life have lead Randy down his chosen path.
As
for
marina
experience,
Randy has owned and operated boats for 40 years and loves the
marina environment. This is where Randy and Steve met and
became friends. Each have boats on Lake Lanier- north of
Atlanta.
